Frosting Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, combine melted butter and sugar until well mixed.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in vanilla.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until combined.
  6. Pour the batter into an even layer in the prepared baking dish.
Baking
  1. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Frosting
  1. While the brownies are cooling, prepare the frosting by beating together softened butter, cocoa powder, powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
  2. Once brownies are completely cool, spread the chocolate frosting evenly over the top.
