Ingredients
Pasta Base
8ounces8 ounces of pasta (spaghetti, fettuccine, or your favorite type)
Sauce Ingredients
2tablespoons2 tablespoons of butter
4cloves4 cloves of garlic, minced
1cup1 cup of heavy creamCan substitute with half-and-half for a lighter option.
1cup1 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Method
Cooking the Pasta
Begin by boiling a large pot of salted water. Add your pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving a cup of pasta water.
Making the Sauce
In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes, until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in the Parmesan cheese, mixing until smooth and creamy. If the sauce is too thick, add some reserved pasta water to achieve your desired consistency.
Combining and Serving
Add the drained pasta to the skillet, tossing to coat it thoroughly in the sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Remove from heat, and garnish with fresh parsley. Serve hot, and enjoy!
For a gluten-free version, choose gluten-free pasta. Optional variations include adding cooked chicken, shrimp, or sautéed vegetables, such as spinach or mushrooms. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. To reheat, add a splash of cream or pasta water in a skillet over low heat to loosen the sauce.
