Deliciously crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, these crispy churro bites are quick to make in the air fryer and great for a sweet treat.

Ingredients

For the dough
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For coating
  • 1/2 cup sugar For coating the churro bites
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • to taste Cooking spray

Method

Preparation
  1. In a medium saucepan, combine water, butter, sugar, and salt over medium heat until boiling.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in flour until a dough forms.
  3. Allow to cool slightly, then mix in eggs one at a time, followed by vanilla extract.
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  5. Using a piping bag, pipe small bites onto parchment paper.
  6. Spray with cooking spray and air fry for 10-12 minutes until golden.
Coating and Serving
  1. In a bowl, mix sugar and cinnamon.
  2. Toss churro bites in the sugar mixture before serving.
  3. Serve warm with dipping sauces like chocolate or caramel.

Notes

Do not overfill the air fryer basket. Cook in one layer. Let the dough cool a bit before adding eggs so the eggs do not cook. Shake the basket halfway through cooking for even browning.
