Ingredients

Mousse Ingredients
  • 1 cup heavy cream Make sure to whip it well.
  • 1/2 cup gingerbread cookies, crushed Use store-bought or homemade cookies.
  • 1/2 cup coffee, brewed strong and cooled Strong brewed coffee is key for flavor.
  • 1/4 cup sugar Adjust to taste if desired.
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • optional Gelatin (for stabilization) Helps keep the domes firm.
Topping
  • Chocolate or glaze for topping For finishing touch.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form.
  2. In another bowl, combine crushed gingerbread cookies, cooled coffee, sugar, ground ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
  3. Gently fold the whipped cream into the gingerbread mixture until fully incorporated. If using gelatin, dissolve in a small amount of warm water and add to the mixture before folding.
  4. Spoon the mousse mixture into dome molds and refrigerate for at least 4 hours until set.
Serving
  1. Once set, carefully remove the domes from the molds and place on a serving plate.
  2. Drizzle with chocolate or glaze before serving. Enjoy your elegant dessert!

Notes

Keep in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 3 days. If you use gelatin, the domes hold shape better. Do not freeze as it can change the mousse texture.
