Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large pot of boiling salted water, blanch the green beans for about 3–5 minutes until tender-crisp. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a skillet, cook the chopped bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove and set aside, leaving some drippings in the pan.
  4. In the same skillet, add the sliced mushrooms and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  5. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked green beans, bacon, mushrooms, sour cream, cream of mushroom soup, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  6. Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish and spread evenly.
  7. Top with shredded cheddar cheese and a generous amount of French fried onions.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 25–30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the top is golden brown.
  2. Serve hot and enjoy your Thanksgiving feast!

Notes
