Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb sirloin steak A rich source of protein and iron, perfect for building muscle and energy.
  • 2 cups cooked fried rice A flavorful base for the dish that is also a great way to use leftover rice.
  • 1 cup mixed vegetables (e.g., bell peppers, zucchini, onions, carrots) Adds color, nutrition, and texture to your meal.
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce Offers a savory umami flavor that enhances the overall taste.
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil Provides the necessary fat for frying the steak and vegetables.
  • Salt and pepper to taste Basic seasonings that elevate all the flavors in the dish.
  • Green onions for garnish (optional) A fresh, crisp topping that adds an extra layer of flavor and presentation.

Method

Preparation
  1. Cut the sirloin steak into bite-sized pieces and season them with salt and pepper.
Cooking
  1. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the steak pieces and cook until browned and cooked to your desired doneness, about 3-5 minutes. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, add the remaining oil and mixed vegetables. Sauté until they are tender, about 4-5 minutes.
  3. Add the cooked fried rice to the skillet with the vegetables, and pour in the soy sauce. Stir everything together and cook for another 2-3 minutes until heated through.
  4. Serve the fried rice and vegetable mixture in bowls, topped with the cooked steak. Garnish with sliced green onions if desired.

Notes

Marinate the steak for at least 30 minutes to enhance the flavor. Pre-cooked fried rice makes this dish even quicker! Don’t overcrowd the skillet when cooking the steak to ensure it sears properly. Experiment with spices for extra flavor.
