Ingredients

Dough and Filling
  • 1 cup pizza dough
  • 1/2 cup low-fat mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup sliced pepperoni can substitute with turkey pepperoni
  • 1/4 cup ricotta cheese can substitute with cottage cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 each egg (for egg wash)
  • to taste Marinara sauce (for dipping)

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface until it’s about 1/4 inch thick.
  3. Cut the dough into rectangles approximately 4x6 inches.
Filling
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the mozzarella, ricotta, pepperoni, Parmesan, and Italian seasoning until well mixed.
  2. Place a spoonful of the cheese mixture at one end of each dough rectangle.
  3. Roll the dough over the filling and seal the edges using the egg wash.
Baking
  1. Arrange the filled rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  2. Brush the tops of the rolls with the egg wash for a golden finish.
  3. Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes, or until they are golden brown and puffed up.
  4. Serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping!

Notes
