Ingredients

Churro Dough
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Oil for frying Keep oil at medium-high heat.
Cinnamon Sugar Coating
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
For Dipping
  • Nutella For serving.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a saucepan, combine water, butter, and sugar. Bring to a boil.
  2. Reduce heat and stir in flour, baking powder, and salt until the mixture forms a ball.
  3. Let the dough cool slightly and then add the vanilla.
Frying
  1. Heat oil in a pan for frying.
  2. Pipe small balls of dough into the hot oil and fry until golden brown.
Coating & Serving
  1. Mix sugar and cinnamon in a bowl.
  2. Roll churro bites in cinnamon sugar while still warm.
  3. Serve with Nutella for dipping.

Notes

Store cooled churro bites in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 day. For longer keep, refrigerate for up to 2 days. Reheat in a hot oven or air fryer to restore crispness. Use a pastry bag or zip bag with a snipped corner to pipe the dough.
