Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb ground beef a great source of protein for your meal
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced boosts flavor and supports immunity
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar adds a delightful sweetness that balances savory flavors
  • 1/4 cup beef broth enriches the dish with depth and moisture
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce offers umami and saltiness
  • 3 tablespoons hoisin sauce brings a sweet and savory complexity
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger lends warmth and spice
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper enhances flavors with a hint of heat
  • Pinch red pepper flakes (optional) adds a spicy kick if desired
  • 10 oz linguine the perfect noodle choice for this dish
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch thickens the sauce for a satisfying texture
  • 2 tablespoons water combines with cornstarch to create a slurry
  • 4 green onions, sliced fresh garnish that adds a pop of color and crunch

Method

Preparation
  1. Begin by cooking the linguine according to the package instructions. Once cooked, drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned and cooked through. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Add the minced garlic to the browned beef and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Stir in the brown sugar, beef broth, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, ground ginger, ground black pepper, and red pepper flakes if using. Mix well to combine all the flavors.
  5. In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch with water to create a slurry. Add this mixture to the skillet and stir until the sauce thickens, about 2-3 minutes.
  6. Once the sauce has thickened, add the cooked linguine to the skillet. Toss the noodles in the sauce until they are well coated.
  7. Garnish the dish with sliced green onions and serve hot.
