Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb chicken breast or thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 1/2 tsp red chili flakes (optional)
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 8 oz noodles (rice noodles or egg noodles)
  • 2 stalks green onions, chopped
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds (optional)

Method

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, mix together the soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, grated ginger, and red chili flakes to create the sauce.
  2. Toss the chicken pieces in cornstarch until they are evenly coated.
Cooking
  1. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the chicken to the skillet and cook until golden and cooked through, about 6–8 minutes.
  3. Pour the prepared sauce over the chicken and stir to coat. Allow it to simmer and thicken for 1–2 minutes.
  4. Cook the noodles according to package directions. Drain and, if desired, toss with a little oil to prevent sticking.
  5. Add the cooked noodles to the skillet and toss to combine with the chicken and sauce.
  6. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

Ingredient substitutions: You can use tofu or shrimp instead of chicken for a different protein option. Feel free to add vegetables like bell peppers, broccoli, or snap peas for added nutrition and color. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in a skillet over medium heat, adding a splash of water or soy sauce to loosen the noodles.
